First Annual Kite Fly Event
Tie & Fly How-To Kite Fly • Saturday, April 20th, 2013
Beginning and seasoned flyers enjoyed a chilly afternoon of kite flying. Cookies and lemonade were served while the kids and adults learned to catch hold of the wind and make their kites soar.
Master Plan Introduced at Yerkes Observatory
After enjoying wine and cheese on October 12, 2012 a presentation by Shawn Kelly, FASLA of Kelly Design Group was held in historic Yerkes Observatory. A discussion of the overall plan was augmented with illustrations including those of some of the highlights. For details:congdongardens.org/about-us

The 138th Kentucky Derby
The 138th Kentucky Derby Run for the Roses • Saturday, May 5th, 2012
Fantastic Southern style buffet included salads, meats, vegetables and assorted desserts. Cash Bar featuring mint juleps & bourbon slushes. There were large screen TVs for viewing, games, silent auctions and raffles. Fun galore.
Women wore hats, with a cash prize(s) for the best hat.
